"One and Only"

You've been on my mind,
I grow fonder every day,
Lose myself in time,
Just thinking of your face,
God only knows why it's taken me so long to let my doubts go,
You're the only one that I want,

I don't know why I'm scared,
I've been here before,
Every feeling, every word,
I've imagined it all,
You'll never know if you never try,
To forgive your past and simply be mine,

I dare you to let me be your, your one and only,
Promise I'm worth it,
To hold in your arms,
So come on and give me a chance,
To prove I am the one who can walk that mile,
Until the end starts,

If I've been on your mind,
You hang on every word I say,
Lose yourself in time,
At the mention of my name,
Will I ever know how it feels to hold you close,
And have you tell me whichever road I choose, you'll go?

I don't know why I'm scared,
'Cause I've been here before,
Every feeling, every word,
I've imagined it all,
You'll never know if you never try,
To forgive your past and simply be mine,

I dare you to let me be your, your one and only,
I promise I'm worth it, mmm,
To hold in your arms,
So come on and give me a chance,
To prove I am the one who can walk that mile,
Until the end starts,

I know it ain't easy giving up your heart,
I know it ain't easy giving up your heart,
Nobody's pefect,
(I know it ain't easy giving up your heart),
Trust me I've learned it,
Nobody's pefect,
(I know it ain't easy giving up your heart),
Trust me I've learned it,
Nobody's pefect,
(I know it ain't easy giving up your heart),
Trust me I've learned it,
Nobody's pefect,
(I know it ain't easy giving up your heart),
Trust me I've learned it,

So I dare you to let me be your, your one and only,
I promise I'm worth it,
To hold in your arms,
So come on and give me a chance,
To prove I am the one who can walk that mile,
Until the end starts,

Come on and give me a chance,
To prove I am the one who can walk that mile,
Until the end starts.

Thanks for sharing. That was beautiful.
Hey Laura ~~ great subject choice ! I also considered using her as my first post but then decided against it .

I love Adele ~ a prolific singer , with an amazing voice . My fave song is "Water & A Flame" , an amazing duet she performed with Daniel Merriweather ! Well , "Pavements" is a classic ! No question about that !!

Nice song lyrics. I've given your following a boost of one. I'm sure it will grow in April.

Contrary to my usual practice of subscribing to comments, to save time during challenge I will not be doing so during April. If you want to respond to my comment , please email me directly from your email notification for the comment.
Thanks.

Lovely song. I used to live in Oregon, and it certainly was gorgeous out there. Mountains and coastline, all within a few hours of each other.

Good luck on the A to Z Challenge!

How enjoyable! I love Adele.
I saw Adele in concert and she was completely awesome. However, the concert venue was all concrete no chairs. So if you count the time I spent in line to the pre-show to the actual concert...several hours standing on concrete. My legs hurt so much by the end that I swore I'd never see another concert at that hall.
Nice idea for a post. Looking forward to reading more.
